Gonadal dysgenesis (Turner's syndrome): fused or 'horseshoe' kidney.
This full length film of an intravenous urogram shows a fused or 'horseshoe' kidney, one of the commonest associated anomalies in gonadal dysgenesis. The lower poles of the kidneys are joined in the midline and this results in abnormal orientation of the pelvicalyceal systems and medially Iying calyces. Other renal anomalies, in particular those involving rotation and ectopia, are also common in gonadal dysgenesis.
